One of the many automobiles that will be cross the block during Auctions of America's Spring Carlisle sale is this rare 1949 DeSoto Custom Convertible. It is one of only 3,385 that were built during the 1949 model year. The Custom series were easily identified by the two short chrome strips mounted low on the front fenders, just behind the wheel arch. Apart from other large amounts of factory ornamental trim this DeSoto and also comes with chrome full-wheel covers and whitewall tires. In the trunk, you will find twin spotlights and (different colored?) fender skirts that can be added to further enhance the cars styling. The Auction starts on April 26th, but do note that the dog is not included!
