PWC employeee Laurens Klein spotted this remarkable shock absorber under the saddle of a 194? Liberator. He started wondering if the bike owner is a fanatic reader of old newspapers or that there maybe is another cause that the man (or girl) using this bike would bring a bundle of paper. To get the best of a long trip in nature? We have no idea but still tend to think it is an extra shockabsorber. Laurens himself came up with the suggestion that in the old days restorers would like to make use of anything around to fill up holes in sills. Anybody who read back then Readers Digest Book of the Car may remember the instructive pictures about how to repair a Mk II Jaguar with chicken wire and more... Those were the days!
Now that we are meandering away in the sixties, enjoy a bite of yesterdays news.
