Recently spotted in New jersey by your editor: this 1969 'General Lee' Dodge Charger. Nobody claimed this to be the original car. It is probably one of tens or hundreds look-a-likes, based on an original 1969 Dodge Charger of course. We found back the history of the ultimate Dukes of Hazard fan, who restored the very first General Lee, "Lee 1" . This means that not one, but at least a series of these cars were used - and probably most wrecked - to serve in the TV-series. Anybody who can tell how many of these cars have been used? In other words how many original 'General Lee' Dodge Chargers are around? In theory.

That aint a 'Dukes of Hazzard' Charger, it's a Dodge Charger Daytona with nose cone and rear spoiler. NASCAR versions did 200mph. The spoiler was so tall so that the boot could still open!
There were apparently 27 "Dukes of Hazzard' cars. one for driving around, and 26 stunt cars that needed to be rebuilt after each crazy stunt.
