Unidentified sedan somewhere in Africa? (update: Opel Rekord/Vauxhall Carlton ?)

The picture of this grossly abused Sedan has been  cropping up in various webpages over the past few years. Up till now, nobody has been able to positively identify the car. Perhaps one of your knowledgable readers might be able to come up with an answer, although I realize that it falls outside the scope of Post War Classics. It is not a picture from Southern Africa, as the car is left hand drive, so this scene is probably from the Congo or a former French colony further north. The numbers on the front door would probably indicate that the car was once the property of some large mining company. Perhaps this rings a bell with one of your readers, whose information might lead us to the country in which this picture was taken. Such scenes are, however, not uncommon on African roads, even to this day.
