The Pegaso brand is being honored almost in every luxury classic car event of the recent times. Yes, the Pegaso Z102 cars are sporting, beautiful and exotic, but less than 100 were produced between 1951 and 1958. However, the company more successful products were the trucks and buses produced from the late 1940s, firstly at the old Hispano Suiza factory of Barcelona, and later at the Madrid plant of Barajas. These trucks were designed as the sports cars by Wifredo Ricart and were reliable and very modern for its age, some of them including V6 120º diesel engines or independent suspensions, as in the case of the Z207 model. The "UFO" of our main picture is one of these Pegaso trucks, specifically a 140 cv diesel chassis of the mid 1950s which received one of the most strange bodies of them all. The "authors" of this futuristic design were the men of "DCI", a company specialised in advanced fire engines. They made this truck as an unique example, and it was sold to a petroleum company, which used it at an oil refinery. Now it has been restored to perfect conditions... perhaps the Pegaso fever is also affecting to the heavy products of the marque?
