Tough-to-crack, puzzle Nr. 146

What we see on this picture is a single-seater vintage race car. It seems there is some kind of badge on the nose. The car has a rear-engine and is rear wheel driven. The braking system is quite peculiar:  it has front drum brakes and rear discs! Approximately 60 pieces have been built between 1964 and 1965. You may remember the wheels from an early saloon of the same make. Too bad the make is no longer producing cars. They were a breed of their own  In case you give the very best answer the name of the car contains the brand name, a type name, a letter and a serial number, but Year, Marque and Type may be more than enough to be the best....  Anyway we want you to tell us about the car shown here.
