Two small dogs. Driving in a small car. One of the dogs is for real, the other one is a clone. No, the dogs were not driving this car. I spotted one of the dogs driving a moped last weekend, but that is another story. The car is also for real, although there have been built only 31 examples in total, between 1968 and 1974. For me this one was the first one I ever spotted, last weekend during an oldtimer event in The Netherlands.
The idea in 1968 was to build a front wheel drive open two seater sports car, based on the front sub-frame of a small car, complete with engine, suspension, drive shafts wheels and the whole works, and design a simple space-frame chassis to attach it to, all covered with a fiberglass body. The cars were delivered as a complete car or as a kit car, to be completed by the owner with parts sourced from the base model. Production ceased in 1974, due to lack of sales combined with the high production cost.
The name of the car is identical to a village in Spain, a coniferous tree and a band from Colorado, USA.
Anyway we want you to tell us about the car shown here. Give us your best shot regarding Make, Year & Type plus any (trivial) information you may have at hand. May the best competitor win. If all fails it may be worthwhile to answer the bonus question: what is the third car in the photo? Before posting your answer under comments be sure to read The Rules. The best answer will win the PostWarClassic T-shirt.
