Today’s children’s heroes drive classics

Despite today’s huge choice in modern sports cars and convertibles, it’s good to know that children’s filmmakers still prefer classic cars over modern ones, or so it seems. Three quarters, if not more, of the cars seen in Cars and Cars 2 were classics and they remain tremendously popular under youngsters to these days. And it doesn’t end there.

I was surprised to see both the Minions as well as Shaun the Sheep in classic convertibles when I went to see the movies with my children lately. Is it because they fit in better with the often very funny characters? Or is it because they simply are so much nicer to look at? I tend towards the latter.
