Maybe you’re the person that since you were younger, you’ve wanted to own your own classic car. Perhaps it is the classic 1967 Mustang that has your heart all aflutter. Whatever the case may be, don’t settle for your dream car just because it’s attached to a dreamy price tag. One of the first things to consider when seeking out your classic car is, ‘What will I use it for?’ Oftentimes people don’t think about the fact that older cars just aren’t the same as newer models. They accelerate, handle roads and guzzle gas differently than newer cars.
As a prospective vintage car owner, you need to consider whether or not you will drive the car around town – or if you will only have your classic car for show. Some of the things most people would consider when purchasing a car apply to this scenario – but if you’re vying for one of the classics, there’s a whole lot more to think about.
Often times, we become so excited about getting the car, that we don’t ask the right questions. Make sure to ask the seller plenty of questions including; are you the original owner and is this a salvaged vehicle?
