Three no-reserve collections head a line-up of early consignments for Worldwide’s Enthusiast Auction

For those enthusiasts and collectors eager to buy and sell great cars this spring, all roads lead to Auburn, Indiana, the birthplace of the collector car auction industry in America.

Worldwide Auctioneers is preparing for the annual Enthusiast Auction at its Auburn headquarters from April 25th to 26th, which promises to be the biggest ever. This year’s sale will include three great no-reserve collections with over 150 cars, including all the vehicles from the Automobile Driving Museum Collection. As the only museum in the country whose cars were used on a weekly basis to give guests rides, this collection has given enthusiasts an authentic driving experience in the south California area for years. Proceeds from the sale will fund an ongoing scholarship programme for automotive students.

The Enthusiast Auction will also showcase a private collection of fine pre-war classics and European sports cars. Notable examples include a very elegant 1937 Mercedes-Benz 540K Cabriolet B, expertly serviced and accompanied by the original data plate and copy of original commission paper, and a 1931 Auburn 8-98 Boattail Speedster, a celebrated Alan Leamy design from the first year of productionEuropean sports cars on offer include a highly desirable, matching-numbers 1967 Aston Martin DB6 Vantage with five-speed manual gearbox and chrome wire wheels, beautifully presented in silver, and an expertly restored early production 1967 Maserati Ghibli 4.7 coupéin its factory-original livery of Blu Sera over Senape. Also slated for the sale is a low-mileage 1995 Ferrari F512 Mone of the most sought-after modern Ferraris, sporting a vibrant Rosso Corsa over Nero livery, the final evolution of the twelve-cylinder Berlinetta Boxer.

Another private collection offered at no reserve comprises a carefully-curated group of vehicles intended for adventure use, assembled with keen attention to mechanical reliability. Aficionados can also look forward to the usual extensive selection of some of the best automobilia and memorabilia to be found.

The Enthusiast Auction is scheduled to run in conjunction with the fifth annual Enthusiast Tour, welcoming aficionados back for this one-of-a-kind, quintessentially Midwestern classic driving tour that runs from April 22-25th. Participants can look forward to experiencing unique private collections, specialist automotive stops, distinctive local attractions and some fine Indiana dining, before rolling right back into Auburn for the Enthusiast Auction itself.
