Remember quiz car number #52? We showed you the extensive recommissioning of a very-very early Alfa Giulia and promised an update back then. It was only yesterday when Robert Babeliowsky took the Alfa outside his workshop for the very first time. And yes the rear bumper was still missing at that point, yet it is on now. You may shrug on seeing an Alfa Giulia, but like real afficionados will see at a glance: 1964 Alfa Romeo Giulia 1300 Berlina. While thousands were built in the first Giulia year, only very few survived. In fact this early production car was a Giulietta in disguise. Same 1300 engine, same single carby, same 4 speed gearbox and still very un-Giulia dash. The difference between the '64 and '65 is shown by the lack of bumper overriders and other nittigritti points (check the subtle and clean nose design nearly as refined as Julia Roberts redesigned nose). This weekend Robert will show his car at the (sales)show AutoMotoItalia in Holland. We're curious which Alfisti will jump in to add this bianco jewel to their collection.
