Who doesn’t know them? The Giulia Giardiniera, only 400 made, most of them for the Carabinieri(the Italian police) and not for the gardener as the name suggests. How many do survive? Some of them have been converted to rally assistance cars, most probably were demolished. So this was an ultimatrely rare chance, not only to see one being parked on the side of the road , but then to discover that it is being driven by the Roberto Giorgetti! The former owner of Carrozzeria Giorgetti in Montecatini Terme. We include a period picture of the workshop below. In the eighties and nighties they still converted Giulias for the Italian police. But since the strong hand favours foreign cars the company only does body work on “normal cars”, for the ordinary gardener. Mr. Giorgetti is sure to come and see the Via Flaminia rally when it passes Montecatini Terme.
