Spotted at last week's Grand Prix Historique de Pau, this monoplace called our attention due to many reasons; the first one, its lovely unrestored condition plus many genuine details like the competition document of photo 2. The second reason was undoubtedly our ignorance about the marque and its origin. With the hood opened one recognies a Citroën TAV engine (photo 3), tuned with a pair of carburettors. Also in the main photo one can see the front wheel drive and suspensions from a "Traction Avant". In the interior the gear lever is very similar to the original used by Citroën (photo 5). There is a little badge showing the name of its builder, Jean Gali, and also a date: 2/7/48. When checking the race documents we learn that the car was still being used in the circuits in 1951 . Yet aside all this nothing more is known. After some research we haven´t been able to find any further information about this rare FWD monoplace, so truly hope to find a Galis Speciale expert here!
