The Frankfurt Motor Show may be a highlight on the modern motoring map; British auction house Coys will be selling a quantity of classics this weekend at the Frankfurter Messe. And they have well adapted to German tastes with plenty of BMWs, Porsches and Mercedeses on offer. In case of the latter there are three 190SLs to choose from: in white, black and another white. This 280 SL Pagoda is not just cheaper (going by the estimates), but a lot more desirable in purplish grey (that's not Gunmetal!) if you ask us. If you want even much more car for your cash, may we suggest this 300 SEL 6.3 Sports Saloon?
From there on it’s just a small step towards the behemoth of Benzes – the 600. And Coys has no less than three of those on offer, too. This long wheel base Pullman version comes in lovely navy blue with red interior, but if that’s too flashy Coys has another lwb navy blue example with equally dark blue inside. Last of them is also dark blue outside and in, but comes in the short wheel base version. Or is this all a bit too Teutonic for your taste? Then don’t worry – Coys has some excellent alternatives on offer during the same sale. How about a pristine looking Maserati Quattroporte I – with seemingly low estimate? Or - if you like a bit more of a challenge - a Facel-Vega HK500 in need of restoration but with provenance of having been owned by Ava Gardner. That could just be the opposite of Teutonic, really.
