Simca loving Lucy from New Zealand!

Colin sends in the extraordinary Simca collection of his wife Lucy: " There is quite a story to these cars. The Vedette used to belong to my employer/brother in law who passed away 25 years ago.  It has not been running since we have been trying to buy it for all those years. It came finally our way last xmas and is now is back on the road. The Ariane was first owned by us in 1971 it was sold in 1976 as I had a company car.  It came back as a basket case in 1998. After I had restored it from the ground up it was sold to a musem as I was not happy with the inside. My son Ivan did a deal and got it back in 2008,  it is all fixed up now. He is now in the driver seat in stead of being in a carrycot on the back seat. The Simca 1000 was found in a paddock with a tree branch lying on the engine cover. After the necessary repairs Lucy said 'can you paint it the same as the Ariane I like the colours'. This was done in 2006, now we have two the same,  it has still only done 40'000 miles. The 1501 was sold and serviced by me while employed by my brother in law,  it now is a 3 owner car.  The Etoile as known out here in NZ was first owned by son Ivan in the early 80's it was given away some 4 years later. Now that Ivan's first wife is out of the picture it has come back. The Aronde 90a is recent arrival (fathers day!) it is now running after 14 yrs in the open, but not yet roadworthy. Lucy is very proud of these cars, may the Lord help anybody that says a bad word about them. There is a lot more that I can tell and show you. Perhaps another time. Lucy  Colin &  Ivan  Smith   P.S. Must go and work on a English couple's Austin 7 as they will be here for the summer."

Amazing - to see SIMCA's (in the www) even in New Zealand. They are very rare to find in Germany, of course more still exist in France. A "bigger" number in Czech Republic. The International SIMCA meeting (ISM 2020) was prepared by Czech enthusiasts - unfortunately it had to be cancelled due to the Corona pandemy :-((
Where exactly in New Zealand can the SIMCA's be found??
Kind regards from Stuttgart, Germany
