Saving the environment with a 2CV

Governments are are taking up ore and more legislation against classic cars. They are trying to do something about environmental issues but most of it is politicis. Most of their 'experts are not interested to talk about the environmental footprint of the product as a whole. According to certain product reviews it akes about 6 years before a modern cars comes to level with an older car. Let alone with a car that's been around for 7 or 8 decades. So in terms of the overall lifetime footprint a modern car is only 'better' for the environment the last two three years of its life. Before that tiem an old car is greener than a modern car.
