About any 2CV lover will frown when seeing this 1957 'Deuxchevaux' recently offered by Frank Kennis in Holland. Looking at the front you won't see anything special. But in fact the car is loaded with aftermarket goodies. Well 'loaded' may not be the right word, but it has a few extras that you will not easily find elsewhere.
First what you notice is the bulbous trunk. When you walk around the car you'll find this small coachbuilders plate reading: la malle Raoul. It is an aftermarket piece by Raoul, which obviously was a speciality of the firm. And most certainly not a one off item as there even was a model by JRD.
The next item is much more hidden and quite strange. The usual horizontal split of the front sidewindow is missing. What happened!? Broken glass exchanged for temporary perspex? Nope! Much more rare are the roll down front windows, patented by Raoul in 1954 according to 2CVMag.fr
So - grey as it is - the car is far from middle of the road. Maybe not an instant Pebble Beach contender, but still a very rare collectors item.
