Visit a Museum!

With the recent announcement of the Walter P. Chrysler Museum set to close, auto enthusiasts the world over have to make it a point to enjoy these collections while they can.

Here a suggestion: when you plan a trip to Southern California be sure to stop at the Riverside International Auto Museum, also known as the RIAM. The RIAM concentrates on preserving the racing heritage of the US West Coast, and offers a rich archive of history and memorabilia from tracks like Riverside, Ontario Motor Speedway, and other events of a bygone era of racing.
It’s also home to one of the most impressive collections of Eagle racing cars, created by Dan Gurney and his team at All American Racers, including the 1969 US F5000 Championship winner driven by Tony “a2z” Adamowicz. There’s always plenty to see when popping in for a visit with the RIAM, as it also houses a large collection of vintage Maserati and other sports cars that have richened the motoring world over the years.
So whether you’re just in the neighborhood, or if you are out to savor the best collections of sports and racing cars around, the RIAM will be glad to see you. (text and photos Will Silk)
