You probably will drown in Maserati stories and photos in the course of this centennial year. So if you don't mind we take a little side step. Very much connected with the history of Maserati is the ultra rare machinery by the Officine Specializzate Costruzioni Automobili set up by the Maserati brother after they had to sell Maserati. Arguably the most famous of all is the 1954 Osca MT4 'Simpson Special' 1500cc Streamliner, seen above at the gates of the  OSCA Factory (click photo). The car broke no less than 18 world records in 1955 at Bonneville including an average of 261 Km/h over 10Km. Driver: Tony Bettenhausen. This streamlined MT4, a 'standard' MT4 and an OSCA De Tomaso 2 litre will be available during Rétromobile at the stand of Christoph Pund.
