No load too small

We couldn’t resist showing you this Goggomobil transporter that was specially built for the Deutsche Bundespost, the German post office. They had been using three-wheel Tempo delivery vans and when the Tempo went out of production, a new vehicle was required. Car manufacturer Hans Glas then adapted his basic Goggomobil and created the 'Kleintransporter'. Some 3,665 of these little vans were built between 1957 and 1965, of which 2000 were used by Deutsche Bundespost. The others were sold to private entrepreneurs. We saw this one in RM’s catalogue, who will auction it at their next sale at Monterey.
