We have new friends in Finland. Chief editor Jan Enqvist visited the PreWarCar offices two months ago. He just had started a 4000 km trip from Finland to Croatia without having planned any visits beforehand. He wanted to hear where to go on the way. So we and many others gave him some advice and he moved on with his flaming red "1966 Baracuda Formula S".
In the meantime Jan Enqvist is back home again and wrote about his adventurous trip. You can read all about it in the latest issue of Mobiliste, the great classic car magazine of Finland. Amazing what in a country like that is going on. So many interesting cars and so many fabulous stories. One little step back...they're all written in Finnish language. To help you and to help ourselves we have asked Jan to send u some highlights from the Finland classic car scene every month. Here is the first report:
"The latest Mobilisti magazine from Finland is out, and what an issue it is. It features a 4 400 kilometer European roadtrip through Sweden, the Netherlands, France and Italy to Croatia – in a -1966 Plymouth Barracuda Formula S. There’s everything from a -20 degree test drive of a soviet people’s car ZAZ 966 to 12 inch railroad guns and the real story of the Triumph Trident motorcycle. There’s the 1946 Dodge with Fluid Drive transmission and of course extensive coverage of Retromobile in Paris. Not to forget restoration stories of a 1927 Renault NN Boulangerie truck or the Cooper Midget racer barnfind! Makes you feel sorry that you don’t understand a word of Finnish, doesn’t it?"
You can check out some photos from the latest issue on Mobilisti’s website.
