Well, what is it then? We don’t know, but owner Robert Albright thinks it could be a prototype of the Aerocar, a flying automobile with foldable wings. The prototype was constructed at in the late 1940's to early 50's and was supposed to go into production. Not much is known about of this prototype. It’s got a body constructed of tubular steel; the doors open on sort of a 45 degree angle like that of an old plane. Axles, spindles and suspension appear to be from an early airplane; rims and tires are definitely aircraft. The engine is a circa 1947 two-cylinder air-cooled Onan 10 hp and the transmission appears to be Harley Davidson. The picture above shows the four guys who built it. They are from left to right: Cameron - Bailey, Max Ray, Kelly Krentz and A. A. Reddy. Can anyone tell us more of this mystery prototype?
