Back in 1952 BMC wanted to give the Morris Minor some rigorous testing to see if it would hold up under extreme circumstances. They decided on a endurance test where the Minor would be driving 10.000 miles without a single stop. The test took place on the Goodwood racing circuit and to help with servicing the bog-standard Minor, a special trailer was constructed, from which all kinds of maintenance could be done. No need to stop at the pits! For instance changing the oil could be done by means of an double-acting pump that drew the old oil out and at the same time pumping new oil in. Even replacing a wheel was no problem, while the Minor was still driving through the other rear-wheel, a thorough test of the differential. As expected, the Minor passed the 10.000 mile test with flying colors!
