Get a MOMA Easter-Egg !

In 1948 the Lincoln division was working overtime to get their new postwar models ready. So their 1948 models were still warmed over 1942 models and they had to invent anything to get some sales. Like an extraordinary color combination as on the 1948 Continental Coupe seen here. It's one of the last 847 coupes built for 1948 and finished in two-tone Opal Blue-Green with a Blue-Gray top and a saddle leather interior. No wonder E. T. "Bob" Gregorie (Ford's chief stylist) referred to the handful of two-tone Lincolns as the 'Easter Egg Cars'. Despite this patronizing remark, in 1951 the Museum of Modern Art chose the Continental as one of eight automotive works of art! If you like your Easter-egg now instead of waiting for the Easter bunny, then visit the Ohio Spring Classic Car Auction on Saturday March 31, where the imposing Continental is one of the many automobiles to be auctioned.
