Fröhliche Weihnachten / Merry Christmas

Dear friends of classic cars,

­

for many of us, classic cars certainly make up a considerable part of our identity. The earlier life introduced us to them, the more intimate our relationship with them seems to be. 

­

The path from the model car to the first driving experience was sometimes an infinitely long one, because the more we long for something, the more impatiently we await its fulfilment. And then a fulfilled dream is nothing more than a lost longing behind which we could hide from the harshness and relentlessness of today. Many of us have entered into an unnoticed covenant for life with our automotive valuables, have been able to transform an illusion into an important attribute of our attitude to life and our personality. But be careful: too much identification with one thing narrows our horizons and obscures our view of others. And ultimately for ourselves, to discover that in us which constitutes us without the adornment of our existence, beyond craving for favour and thinking of power.

Let us allow ourselves the luxury of being natural without pretence and conceit.

Christmas is one such occasion to renew this resolution.

My team and I thank you all for your valued attention with which you enter our toy shop again and again, both imaginary and with your physical presence.

 

We have moved many things in the past year, from Messerschmitt Tigers to one of the few real Mercedes SSKs. We would be happy to move something for you too and look forward to your offer!

 

And a little hint: Our company also bears my first name, that's the subtle difference to the other two Thiesen companies.
