The first thing that struck us upon seeing this lovely picture was that angle. And then we automatically thought San Francisco a split-second later. And, yes indeed, this picture was taken in that city.
And the good thing about it is that photographer Fred Lyon is still very much active in that city, too. Fred, 94 years young at the time, came out with a book called ‘San Francisco Noir’ last year (available here) and was quoted: “San Francisco is still a magical city. If I were a little tougher, I'd put aside that sentimental romanticism. But the city is the people, and that's what persists. Maybe it's a sickness we all have, but we keep attempting to recreate a lot of what attracted us here in the first place.” And so he continuous to photograph and has got his own website.
The picture seen here is not quite so recent, though. The official caption is ‘Anne Lyon getting into her Riley on a windy day in Nob Hill, 1950s”, but feel free to add a little detail to that if you like.

He "continuous" to photograph? Sorry guys, don't use Google Translate without checking the result. Just saying.
