Add some Griffith to your life!

Following the success of the Shelby Cobra (It looks like it’s Carroll Shelby week!) Jack Griffith took a TVR Grantura and replaced the 4 cylinder MGA engine with a 4700cc Ford V8. It proved very quick and in 1963 he persuaded TVR to build a special model that he fitted with a V8 engine in his own Ford dealership. It was known as the Griffith 200. In 1964 the body was modified and renamed Griffith 400. Some 300 were build but it is not known how many remain. At least four of them can be seen at the Ultimate Griffith Reunion during the 2011 Amelia Island Concours d' Elegance, including the blue one with white stripes also pictured above. Automodello has made 1/43 scale models of the Griffith 200 and in the near future there will also be a copy of the blue one which comes with a Certificate of Authenticity signed by Andrew “Jack” Griffith.
