Destination Dakar

Embark on the ultimate adventure as the Sahara Challenge 2027 heads from Lisbon to Dakar, covering 5,250 km across Portugal, Spain, Morocco, Mauritania and Senegal. This 21-day endurance rally combines competition, culture and discovery as crews tackle forests, mountains and the vast expanse of the Moroccan Sahara before reaching the legendary “Destination of Rally Legends” – Dakar.

Designed by desert specialist John Spiller and organised by HERO-ERA, the event is a qualifying round for the 2028 Peking to Paris Motor Challenge. Competitors can expect challenging gravel tracks, thrilling Sporting Trial Sections and true desert adventure — including bivouac nights under the stars. The Sahara Challenge 2027 promises an unforgettable journey through some of rallying’s most iconic landscapes.
