Lots of barnfind stories. But how often do you hear how exactly the car became a barnsleeper? Here's the bonedry story of the 43 year long owner who only recently let his very rare 911S go to LBI Limited. from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
"It just happened to be what was available...
Found it on the used carline actually.
And er.. I found this... and drove it. Pretty much the end of story."
"I bought the car in 1972. It was about September. I still had a couple of months to go in the Service at that time. And after I got out... the Service, it was the only car I had, so it was my daily driver.
We went to Wallgreens to get a couple of six packs of beer. And on the way back to the house which was not very far away I stood at a stop sigh and got rear ended by a Pontiac Firebird. And that pointy nose of the Firebird put that centered dent right in the middle of my engine deck. Finally I brought it back on a trailer and put it in the barn...er in 1988.
Well I hope somebody is enjoying it and get it restored to the condition it deserves to be in."
It seems such a little and unimportant story, yet enhanced by sound and video every word is one.
