A couple of weeks ago we visited the Abarth Works Museum in Lier, Belgium. An unexpected amazing museum. Warehouses full of classic race cars. Mostly Fiat Abarths of course, but other cars as well like the Le Mans Simca Abarths. Also quite some Lancia Delta Integrales and so on.
What really caught our eye were the old car transporters in the back of the museum. Some nice dusty 'cavallo di battaglia', retired but still of use as art with small Italian sweet cars on it.
I started daydreaming; I was on holiday driving through small Italian villages, on a certain moment I was lost and found a small barn on a small mountain. I opened the shed and felt in love.... Well, probably every car nut knows what I'm talking about and had the same dream. But in this museum, the dream became more real. My first task now is to buy a small truck and go on holiday to Italy. Or should I just keep dreaming because all the barnfinds are already found?
