When a car is modern enough for the first man in space (Comrade Gagarin had one) and fast enough for the French motorway police (the Gendarmerie drove them), than it is will be just about right for everyone.
It’s the Djet, by René Bonnet. Bonnet supposedly chose the Djet name thinking the British would not know how to pronounce ‘Jet’ properly, but we don’t think the car ever was a big seller outside France. This lady definitely is French – she knew how to drape her long legs in ‘sixties fashion onto that fibreglass body. We have no idea if this a René Bonnet Djet, or a later version by Matra, but trust that one of you will be able to tell us.
