One way ticket to Lahore: tea is ready !

This W180 six cylinder Mercedes-Benz 220 Coupe was bought in Germany and driven straight to the city Lahore in Pakistan by its owner in the 1960s/70s. According to him he stopped driving the car when the fuel prices took off like a rocket somewhere in the eighties and the Japanese cars with their lighter bodies and smaller engines came 'en vogue'.

The car stands in open shed with anothe sister car on its side: a foru door ‘220S’. A Merc of the next generation - a fintail or Heckflosser - is to be found on the same location and too bad that picture is missing due to the story connected to is. From the fintial the floor has dropped to the ground as it couldn’t hold the weight of the used tea bags (!) that were thrown in it each time a tea cup was made in the adjourning kitchen. The owners now consider to move to a junk yard soon to free the space. None of the mentioned cars will be sold according to the family and if they are ever restored it will be by them self! Thirty-five-years of drinking tea and thinking about it. Let's at express hope that before finishing their last cupper with the car they shoot a photo and send it over around teatime.
