In September next year a special version of the Via Flaminia will be held. Special because in that month the Lancia Lambda -the first car with a monocoque construction- will be 90 years old. To celebrate this event some 30 historic Lancia’s will start at the Lancia-sponsored film festival of Venice, then drive south, partly over the Mille Miglia road, over the Apennines, ending their week-long journey in Rome. The first car to register for this all Lancia Via Flaminia is Willy Mermans with his Lancia Arila Special. Based on a 1963 Appia Coupé, the body of this Special was built in 1969 by that tinkering wizard Arie van der Hoeven who named his design Arila, made up of his first name and Lancia. Own a Lancia and would also like to participate...? Then check Via Flaminia for more information about this All-Lancia edition.
