We know the car for years and years. It was waiting under a big old cloth in a corner of a nearby workshop. We had seen it, but it didn't look extremely interesting: a partly dismantled 1956 Alfa Romeo Giulietta '750' Berlina. One of the early series cars. Only to be recognised from details by the true afficionados. One of those is restorer Robert Babeliowski who picked up the car when he saw that the basics were very good and all original details were present and usable. The car looked quite poor when he bought it in Italy, but he instantly made the assesment that the sheetmetal was in superb condition. After dismantling he selected the very best paintshop he could find in Holland and after 6 months got the body back in its original black; no filler being used! To a superficial observer it may be just a nice paintjob. To somebody who knows his stuff it is near to a miracle. The car has a piano like finish all round with not the smallest blemish or irregularity. Just look at this enlarged detail of three aligned body panels. We will come back to you when the endresult is getting shape. Sorry for the poor photo, but here a last show for now to show that Robert likes to stay with some original unrestored details.
