You may know one of these cars. You may have seen them advertised elsewhere. You may even know the current or earlier owner. But you have never seen these cars advertised here at PostWarClassic. The reason of that is quite simple. We do routine checks on all cars coming in and many adverts are considered to be 'suspect'. That counts for the 1965 Glas 1300 GT Coupe by Frua pictured above (when BMW took over Glas this refined model was re-engined and re-badged as BMW 1600 GT).
The same is the issue with the 1958 Alfa Romeo Giulietta project. For the 1967 Intermeccanica Apollo and for the Volkswagen single cab flat-bed pick-up. We prefer not to disclose why these cars were identified as scam ads, but in general we can state that what is too good to be true in general is not true. The chance that an advertised very desirable project at very low price is a genuine advert is very-very low. Believe us, unless it is from your best friend or neighbour, it is not true.
So be careful when you want to buy but don't have to inspect & pick up the object by yourself. Be very sure before you take any unwise decisions. When in doubt, don't hesitate to contact [email protected]. We know how to differentiate between true and nonsense ads. We have been checking car ads front office & back office for 15 years.
