1965 Volkswagen would be great for autojumbles

Dutch auction house Epic Auctions recently branched into the sale of historic vehicles, and will be offering another bumper crop of desirable classics on 11th November in Vessem.

The cars are offered for sale, both in a live auction as online, from a private collection and comprise an eclectic selection of mainly post-war cars, with a preference on the part of the collector for American classics and collectable Mercedes-Benz.

Perhaps the jewel of the collection is the 1956 Imperial Southampton. This beautiful and extremely rare hardtop was the Chrysler Corporation's top-tier luxury model, intended to compete with Cadillacs and Ford's Lincoln sub-division. Priced at over $5000, only around 3600 1956 Imperial Southamptons were ever built. The 1957 Lincoln Premiere convertible was built to a similarly low number, while the 1957 Buick Series 50 Super convertible is even rarer - only 2065 were made that year.

Other highlights are of a commerical nature are the 1965 Volkswagen Type 2 Transporter in Fendt Servicedienst livery, and the 1952 Mercedes-Benz O3500 20-seater coach, believed to still have its original upholstery. We can think of plenty of uses for both. The Volkswagen would be ideal autojumble transport, and what better than the Mercedes for taking friends to Goodwood or the Le Mans Classic?

Other European classics also feature, and we're particularly attracted to the pert little 1966 NSU 56 Spider. There's plenty more to whet one's appetite, from some pre-war Americans to various Italian scooters and small motorcycles from the 1960s. It's an interesting collection, so be sure to take a closer look.
