Many things are bigger in America and it certainly goes for Mecum’s upcoming sale in Harrisburgh, Pennsylvania at the end of this month. No less then a thousand (1000!) vehicles will be sold and there are some fantastic cars on offer – the majority of them post war American icons, like the very early Corvette above. We also adore this Ford Torino Sport, green from the outside and inside and looking as if it just drove from the 1972 model year brochure. Some cars are modified or customized, like this 1949 Chevy sedan delivery which has mildly been rodded into one very cool ‘panel van’. Have a look at the long lot list to see where your taste goes.
Oh - and it’s not just cars. If you are man enough to sit out all of the vehicle sales, you’ll be treated to the Marchese collection of petroliana with a plethora of oil and gas signs. As if it’s nothing Mecum rolls on to the next day with 200 motorcycles crossing the block, only to come up with another 50 bikes and 600 more cars some 10 days later at the Del Monte golf course in Monterey. Now focusing on a more internationally oriented public, they bring along plenty of Ferraris, Lamborghinis, Porsches, Mercedeses, Alfas and Jaguars. Go-go-go Mecum!
