Your average Dutch house?

Just an ordinary home, one with a garage and some flower pots. Nothing unusual there. But this home is blessed. It has been the home of my Lancia Aprilia when it first came to Holland in the 1980s. When its Dutch owner died in a tragic car accident the Aprilia was acquired by Lancist Marc de Bruijn who did not have enough time to drive it. When I needed a rally weapon next, I fell for this under-valued pedigree-rich Lancia. Now, with many rallies under its tyres it feels it's about time for an engine rebuild.

And what better place than its original Dutch home? By now the place is turned into the workshop of Lancia specialist Kees Jan Boosman. To my surprise, the engine was still in quite a good shape and had lighweight aluminum conrods. Yet another racy feature to add to the cross-flow engine design, V4 aluminium engine block, independent suspension, unitary body construction, etc. etc. I can't wait to humiliate yet another Golf rider with baseball cap...
