A transparant Friday Lady

Well, actually it is not the lady but the car, which is transparent. It is, of course, a show vehicle but we must admit we’d never seen this one before. We’ve seen photographic evidence of other transparent four-wheelers – the Pontiac seen below in particular, but never came across this Hillman.

We did find another similar photograph here, which also learns us a little bit more. It was supposedly shown on the Preview Day of the Earl’s Court Motor Show in 1963. What’s more: the smiling lady behind the wheel is actress Caron Gardner, who could also be seen on the television screen in the Benny Hill show that year (and in The Evil of Frankenstein later).

The remarkable car was also on display in Scotland (seen here), albeit without the lovely Caron, but we wonder what happened to the car afterwards? And do you know of any other transparant (show) cars?
