A Dyane for Romani Day

We have chosen today’s Friday Lady with a special reason. Yes, it’s Friday today, and yes, it’s a pretty girl. But it’s the car that’s the key. A Citroën Dyane. And the reason for that is that the Dyane is a favourite amongst a group of people that are commemorated today. It’s International Romani Day, and some of the Romani – or Roma – have a special place in their hearts for the 2CV’s luxury sister model. Just have a look at the great little documentary seen here and you’ll understand. One critic wrote about the film: “If filmer Boris Mitić had focused only on the terrible misery these people live in, the film would have been unbearable. Instead, you never know whether you should cry after you laugh, or the other way around.” Perhaps Citroën meant the Romani people as the 'quelques autres' (some others) in this ad? Have a happy Romani Day.
