The 1994 Bentley Turbo R is a striking example of Bentley’s ability to combine traditional British craftsmanship with modern performance engineering. Introduced in 1985 as an evolution of the earlier Mulsanne Turbo, the Turbo R was developed to offer sharper handling and a more engaging driving experience, while still delivering the luxury and refinement Bentley customers expected. At its core, the Turbo R was powered by Bentley’s legendary 6.75 litre V8 engine, enhanced with a Garrett turbocharger. Power was delivered through a four-speed automatic transmission, tuned to provide smooth yet decisive shifts. One of the defining features of the Turbo R was its handling. Unlike previous Bentleys, which prioritised comfort above all else, the Turbo R received uprated suspension with stiffer anti-roll bars, performance tyres and alloy wheels.

This lovely Bentley Turbo R was purchased from Jack Barclay London in August 1994. The third owner, an American friend of the vendor, purchased the car in 2003 to use for the three or four months of the year when he was in the UK. He sold it 2009 and then purchased it back in 2010. Up to that point it was regularly serviced by Rolls-Royce dealers, after 2010 the maintenance moved to a local garage in Stroud. The current owner purchased this Turbo R in 2025 when it had covered 73,500 miles and is only selling it due to divorce. Finished in Red Pearl with Sandstone leather piped in red, the wheels were refurbished in November 2025, and it all presents very well. This Bentley is supplied with a V5 registration document, an MoT test certificate which expires in April 2027 and the original Jack Barclay 1994 purchase invoice for £129,021.35. The Turbo R exemplified traditional Bentley opulence. Hand-stitched leather seats, thick lambswool carpets and rich wood veneers surrounded occupants in luxury. Consigned by John Tomlin
