2014 Land Rover Defender 90 Custom by Overland Specialties | The Quail Auction 2026
Chassis No. IDC0001865ZZ
This custom Land Rover Defender 90 is a bold and highly customized interpretation of one of Britain's most iconic off-roaders. Reportedly shipped to the United States from the United Kingdom as a rolling chassis, it was subsequently transformed into the striking custom build seen today by Oliver Whiting of Overland Specialties in Durango, Colorado, pairing the classic Defender proportions with supercharged American V8 performance, an upgraded driveline, and a neatly trimmed cabin.
Finished in Corris Grey with Santorini Black accents, the exterior showcases a rugged, contemporary stance courtesy of a Project Kahn wide-track body kit, black-finished 20-inch multi-spoke alloy wheels, and 285/50 Nitto Terra Grappler All Terrain tires. Additional details include a black roof, hood, front fascia, and wheel arch extensions, along with "Supercharged" badging, faux fender vents, a domed hood, and aftermarket lighting. Front and rear parking sensors are fitted, as are a fabricated front bumper with driving lights, a tubular rear bumper, side steps, and mud flaps. Power-adjustable Mercedes G-Class mirrors with integrated turn signals and a body-color spare wheel cover complete the exterior.
The cabin has been similarly rethought, trimmed in black leather over the dashboard, door panels, and seats, accented with carbon-embossed detailing and silver contrast stitching. Equipment includes heated front seats, air conditioning, a microsuede headliner, a Land Rover–branded analog clock, fold-away second-row buckets, and a Pioneer touchscreen head unit paired with a console-mounted subwoofer. A Momo steering wheel frames instrumentation comprising a 120-mph speedometer, with the digital odometer displaying 2,360 miles, said to reflect distance traveled since completion.
Power is supplied by a supercharged 5.0-liter Coyote V8 fitted with a Sean Hyland-designed supercharger, Spectre air intake, and Ford Racing valve covers. Revised engine-management software was installed by Clay Campeau of Dick York's Auto Service in Hailey, Idaho. Power is delivered to all four wheels through an Aasco Motorsports clutch setup, Getrag MT82 six-speed manual transmission, LT230 dual-range transfer case, and locking center differential, with exhaust exiting through shorty headers and a Kahn dual stainless-steel system.
Blending an iconic British silhouette with supercharged American power, this bespoke Defender offers modern amenities and off-road capability in equal measure, making it equally enjoyable on or off-road.
