DAF VA 400 Car Transporter 1992 for sale

Righthand-drive L.W.B. 1992 DAF - type VA 400 car-transporter. Chassis N° 906234.This former ambulance was purchased new by the NZ-government in 1992 and was always well maintained. After decommissioning as an ambulance it was professionally converted into a car-transporter in 2008 and served for six years for the transport of vintage cars. It comes with a spare powerful low-mileage 3500cc V8-(Rover) engine which was only used for ambulance-work. During its work for our museum we replaced the gearbox, fitted new oil- and airfilters, new driveshaft-bearings, new front wheelbearings, new tie-rods, new tyres, new waterpump, a new roof-vent, noise-insulation on the cab's floor and firewall and we had a complete brake-overhaul carried out. Light-weight ladder-ramps are mounted under the deck. Comes with two sideboards and one rear-board which can all three be lifted off and which make it into a multi-purpose vehicle. Will need a new winch. This truck can be driven with a normal driving-licence. Easily takes vintage cars such as Model A Fords, 20hp Austins, 1930's Bentleys, Alvis and the like.
